About

As the saying goes, good things come to those who wait.

I have been playing guitar for 35 years and producing electronic music for 30 years. And didn’t release a single song during all this time.

Imagine that.

Be it perfectionism, musical disorientation, distraction from work. There seemed to always be a reason.

My biggest dilemma:

I could never decide whether to focus on my passion for electronic music (house/techno) or follow the path of more improvisational music (modern jazz), which I also like so much.

This indecisiveness lead to an unhappy on-off relationship with my music.

Having created countless sketches and drafts over the years, no song ever made it near, let alone across, the finish line.

Until the beginning of 2025, the year I would turn 50.

It dawned on me that one day I would regret not having shared my music with anyone.

I had to stop procrastinating and instead: finish and deliver.

So I finally decided to release under the moniker Magasine.

“Magasin” was my grandmother’s maiden name. I always liked the sound of it.

What genre is my music today?

Mostly house.

I’m really feeling those four on the flour grooves, the juicy analog synth sounds, the intricate percussion arrangements, and the minor (seventh) chords.

I try to mix all of those ingredients together in ways that create moments of musical euphoria.

Because music should move people. Either their body or their soul. Or even both together.

That’s all what matters to me.

With this in mind: Have fun with my music.

Thanks for listening.
